Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born in the Hell’s Kitchen neighbourhood of manhattan, New york on July 6, 1946, the elder son of Francesco “Frank” Stallone Sr., a hairdresser and beautician, and Jacqueline “Jackie” Stallone. His father was an Italian immigrant, and his mother’s heritage is half French and half German. The young stallone attended the American College of Switzerland and the university of Miami, eventually obtaining a B.A. degree. He struggled in small parts in films such as the soft-core. The party at kitty and stud’s (1970), the thriller klute (1971) and the comedy Bananas (1971).

Stallone Followed Rocky (1976) with FIST (1978), loosely based on the life of teamsters boss ” Jimmy Hoffa”, and Paradise Alley (1978) before pulling on the boxing gloves against to resurrect Rocky Balboa in the sequal Rocky II (1979). The second outing for the “Italian stallion” wasn’t as powerful or successful as the first “Rocky” however, it still profuced strong box-office subsequent films Nighthawks (1981) and Victory (1981) failed to ignite with audiences, so stallone was once again lured back to familar territory with Rocky III (1982).

Stallone retired his prizefighter for a couple of years as another mega franchise was about to commence for the busy actor.

In 1993, he made a comeback with the hit Cliffhanger, which was a success in the US, grossing US$ 84 million, but even more successful worldwide, grossing US$ 171 million. Later the year, he starred with wesley snipes in the futuristic action film Demolition man, which grossed over US $ 158 million worldwide. His String of hits continued with 1994’s The Specialist over US$ 170 million worldwide gross.

He also appeared in the thriller Assassins (1995) with Julianne moore and Antonio Banderas. In 1996, he starred in the disaster film Daylight.

In 2010, Stallone wrote , directed and starred in the ensemble action film The Expendables. The movie, which was filmed during summer/winter 2009, was released on August 13, 2010.

The Expendables 3, the third installment in the ensemble action film series was released on August 15, 2014. The returning ensemble cast also added wesley snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford. The film was negatively received by both critics and audiences and became the lowest grossing film in the series.

Sylvester stallone formed a film studio with Braden Aftergod in March 2018, named Balboa Productions, where Stallone will serve as Co-producer for each of their projects.

Love him or Loathe him, Sylvester Stallone has built an enviable and highly respected career in Hollywood; Plus, he has considerably influenced mordern popular culture through several of his iconic film characters.
