So, there’s this woman named Catherine Fassbender. She was born in Heidelberg, Germany in April 1977. She’s a neuropsychologist, which basically means she studies the brain and how it affects behavior and cognition.

Now, Catherine has a pretty famous older brother – Michael Fassbender. You might know him from movies like “Inglourious Basterds,” “X-Men: First Class,” and “12 Years a Slave.” He’s a pretty big deal in Hollywood.

Anyway, Catherine went to Trinity College Dublin to study psychology, and then she went to University College Dublin to specialize in neuropsychology. She’s actually published over 20 scientific papers, which is pretty impressive. Most of her research is about cognitive aging and diseases that damage nerve cells. She’s also interested in ways to photograph the brain.

Catherine’s been working as a neuropsychologist at the UC Davis MIND Institute in Sacramento, California since 2012. Her research there focuses on autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

Even though Michael‘s the more famous sibling, he’s really proud of Catherine and her work. They’re actually pretty close and have been seen together at events like the Independent Spirit Awards.

Not much is known about Catherine’s personal life, but apparently, she works at a restaurant with her husband. He’s actually the head chef and owner, which is pretty cool.
