Dominic Ralph Campden Lawson was born on December 17, 1956 to Nigel Lawson and Vanessa Salmon. Nigel Lawson was a prominent politician and served as Chancellor of the Exchequer; Vanessa Salmon was an heiress to Lyons Corner House empire.
Dominic grew up with multiple siblings: Nigella, Horatia, Thomasina and Emily. Unfortunately his sister Thomasina died due to breast cancer in 1993 while their mother Vanessa died from liver cancer just nine years prior.
