The trial date for Kevin Spacey‘s high-profile UK trial on sexual offense charges has been set for this summer. The trial of the “American Beauty” star will commence on June 28 and is expected to last around four weeks. The announcement regarding the trial schedule was made on Friday at Southwark Crown Court. According to reports, Spacey joined the hearing via video link from an undisclosed location, and during the 15-minute hearing, the 63-year-old spoke only to confirm his name and could hear the proceedings.
Spacey is facing 12 charges of sexual assault against four men that are alleged to have occurred between 2001 to 2013. In January of this year, he pleaded not guilty to seven of these charges. In addition, he also denied five other allegations against him last year.
Spacey had been planning his comeback and was set to appear in the forthcoming movie 1242: Gateway to the West. However, he was replaced after new allegations against him emerged. In October of last year, a jury declared Spacey not liable for damages in Anthony Rapp’s high-profile $40 million sexual misconduct lawsuit.
