Born July 17, 1982, in Oahu, Hawaii, Travis Browne spent much of his life moving from Hawaii to California, during which he came to enjoy a good sporting habit. At high school in San Diego, California, Browne had narrowed down to basketball and eventually was known for excelling at it by earning him the Coastal North League Player of the Year in the year 2000. Browne never got himself into professional fighting at this tender age. At 26 years of age, Browne discovered Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which led him to the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).
