Trevor John Eve was born on 1 July 1951 in Sutton Coldfield, England. His father, Stewart Frederick Eve, was a publican, and his mother, Elsie Hamer, was Welsh.
He attended Bromsgrove School, but acting was not his interest at that time. Initially, he wished to become an architect, and so he went to Kingston Polytechnic. Eventually, he discovered his interest in acting and enrolled himself in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). He graduated in 1973 and started his career as an actor.
