Walt spent 30 years as an accountant for Eastern Airlines and took pride in his work, retiring in 1985. In his spare time, he was a proud member of the Miami Elks Club. In 1994, he was recognized as “Elk of the Year” for his service. He was known for his wisdom and kindness and was well-respected in his community.

Walt was a funny guy. Brian used to talk about his dad quite a bit in his stand-up special. During his Netflix special “Nunchucks and Flamethrowers,” Brian spoke about how his dad made light of the fact that Brian’s birthday shared the same day as the Lincoln assassination and the sinking of the Titanic.
Walt’s impact instilled Brian’s own style of comedy. The humor was characterized by the wit and warmth that were a family hallmark. Through his work even after Walt’s death in 2017, Brian still maintained homage to his father.
