Early Life and Family
Marko Djokovic was born on August 20, 1991, in Belgrade, Serbia. He is the middle child in the family. His parents are Srdjan and Dijana Djokovic. Marko has two brothers. The oldest brother is Novak, and the youngest is Djordje.
Marko was raised in a sports-inclined family. His dad was once a professional skier and played football. The three brothers enjoyed tennis. Novak became the most popular celebrity, but Marko played a high level as well.

Marko’s Tennis Career
Marko began playing tennis as a child. He went professional around 2006 or 2007. He competed in minor tournaments, such as ITF and ATP Challenger tournaments.
His greatest draw appearance was at the 2008 Thailand Open. He did not appear in a lot of big games, but he did have some memorable occasions. One of them was in 2009, at the Serbian Open. Marko and his doubles partner Darko Mađarovski defeated one of the world’s top-ranked doubles pairs. They defeated Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjić, who were ranked No. 2 at the time.
Marko’s career singles best was ranked No. 571 in the world. His career doubles best was ranked No. 323. He earned approximately $89,765 in prize money through 2019.
Life After Playing
Marko retired from playing tennis full-time in about 2015. He attempted a small comeback or two after that, primarily in qualifiers. But he then transitioned to another job in tennis.
Since 2018, Marko has been in Novak Djokovic’s squad. He is an assistant coach and also assists Novak in being calm and concentration-oriented during major games. Novak once described having Marko on tour as special. He claimed that it emotionally connects him and provides him with comfort.
Marko is familiar with Novak both as a brother and a player. That is why he is a key member of Novak’s team.

Strong Family Tie
The Djokovic family is close-knit. Marko has a very close relationship with both Novak and Djordje. All three brothers were into tennis. While Novak turned out to be the largest star, both Marko and Djordje went the same way for some time.
