Jessica’s Start in Golf
Jessica did not choose tennis like her parents. Instead, she picked golf. She started young and worked hard. As a teen, she played in top junior events like the Junior Solheim Cup and the Curtis Cup.
When she turned 18, Jessica went pro. That was in 2011. She joined the LPGA Tour, the top women’s golf league in the U.S. She didn’t take long to make her mark.
Her Big Wins
Jessica won her first LPGA championship in 2012. It was the Women’s Australian Open. She was just 19 years old. The victory came after a six-player playoff, making it all the more thrilling.
Thereafter, more victories came. Some of her finest wins are:
2012 Women’s Australian Open
2014 Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic
2021 Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions
She has a total of six LPGA Tour victories.
Playing with Nelly
One of Jessica’s greatest moments was in 2019. She and Nelly teamed up together in the Solheim Cup. They were the first two sisters to play for Team USA in the tournament. They even scored the team’s first point.
Jessica and Nelly are not just sisters. They are best friends. They speak daily and support one another. They have a strong relationship off and on the golf course.

Injury and a New Role
In 2023, Jessica went on a golf hiatus. She suffered a back injury and required time to recover. During this time off, something else changed as well—Jessica became a mother.
In the early part of 2024, she and husband Johnny DelPrete had their first child. Johnny is a golfer as well and works in real estate. The two were wed in 2021.
Life Off the Course
Jessica loves life outside golf. She enjoys spending time with family and watching Nelly’s games. Despite recovering and becoming a mother, she remained attached to the sport.
Although she took a break from competition for some time, fans expect her to come back soon. Her career is far from over.
