Early Life
Tito Jackson was born on October 15, 1953, in Gary, Indiana. He was named Toriano Adaryll Jackson. Tito was the third of the ten children of Joe Jackson and Katherine Jackson. There were eight children that grew up with him. Music played a dominant role in their lives.
Tito enjoyed playing the guitar. One day, he was spotted by his father with his talent and encouraged him to play. This resulted in the formation of The Jackson 5, a band consisting of Tito and his brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael.
The Jackson 5 and Success
The Jackson 5 were contracted with Motown Records during the late 1960s. “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There” were their initial major successes. Tito sang background and played the guitar. He was consistent, dependable, and helped maintain the music solid.
The group soon gained success. They were on television, touring globally, and selling millions of records. They later changed names to The Jacksons when they left Motown. Tito and Jackie remained in the group during most of its transitions.
Solo Career

Family Life
Tito wed Delores “Dee Dee” Martes in 1972. Tito and Dee Dee had three sons named Taj, Taryll, and TJ. His sons were part of the music group 3T, which was popular during the 1990s. Tito also has a daughter, Tiki Jackson.
Tito and Dee Dee divorced later in 1988. Unfortunately, Dee Dee died in 1994. Tito remained close to his children despite difficulties and later became a proud grandfather.
