Ryan Slater was born on 19 April 1983 in New York City. He is the younger half-brother to actor Christian Slater. They have the same mother, Mary Jo Slater, a renowned casting director. Ryan’s biological father was Mary Jo’s second husband. But he was brought up by her third husband, lawyer William Henry Taron, who Ryan regards as his true father.

Education
Ryan trained in acting at a number of the best schools. He was at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. He worked hard to develop his abilities.
Ryan quit acting at the age of 19 to pursue studies. He went ahead to graduate from a university in San Francisco in the year 2008 with a Japanese degree. This learning helped him spend some time in Japan. There, he worked in commercials and even sang in Japanese.
Acting Career
Ryan was a child actor. He had a stint in commercials, films, and television programs in the 1990s. His most notable stint was as Ryan Tyler in The Great Panda Adventure (1995). He also had a role in the television film Rise & Walk: The Dennis Byrd Story in 1993. He later had a role in the television series After Jimmy (1996–97).
Ryan made guest appearances on hit series such as Walker, Texas Ranger, General Hospital, and Perception. Although he never achieved the same level of fame as Christian, he nonetheless established a good career within the field.
Following his trip to Japan, Ryan worked as a distributor for motion pictures for a Japanese firm. He also assisted his mother with casting endeavors. Eventually, he returned to the performing arts and remained involved with acting in other capacities.
