Early Life and Family
Aaron Nesmith’s older brother is Eddie Nesmith. They both come from Charleston, South Carolina. Their parents instilled in them the values of hard work and high aspirations. The entire family was firm in their belief in planning, discipline, and education.
Eddie and Aaron attended Porter-Gaud School. They were close even as children. Despite going in different directions, they always stood by one another.
School and College Life
Eddie was a bright student from the beginning. He performed well in school and enjoyed studying. Whereas Aaron concentrated on basketball, Eddie concentrated on health and science.

Medical Career
After college, Eddie wanted to be a doctor. He needed to serve people and change the world. He attended the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for medical school. UCSF is among the best medical schools in the U.S.
Eddie is currently doing his anesthesiology residency at Boston Medical Center. That’s where he is learning to become a master at administering anesthesia—medicine that makes surgery painless for patients.
He wishes to be more than a doctor. He wishes to be involved in public health as well. Eddie feels that good health care involves sound policies and care of the community. He wishes to assist not only patients but the systems that attend to them as well.
Eddie and Aaron’s Bond
Although Eddie and Aaron took different paths and became different professionals, they remain close. Eddie is extremely proud of Aaron. He has expressed that he recognized his brother’s ability early in life. When Aaron became a varsity member on the high school team as a freshman, Eddie knew that something big was on its way.
Aaron also has great respect for Eddie. He understands his brother had to work hard to achieve what he had achieved. Both brothers stand by each other during every triumph and failure.
