A Quirky Childhood
Jennifer’s childhood was rather quirky. She spent much of her childhood years in Hawaii with her mom, Sandra Knight. Jen’s exposure as a child to Hollywood and the film industry was rather limited; however, she did have a famous father. By the time Jennifer was born, Jack Nicholson had already become very big in the profession, so in a way, her childhood was a bit different from everyone else’s. She said she is always proud of her dad, irrespective of the fame.
Jennifer’s life was turned around even further as she learned more about her family. Jack knew not much about his father who was unknown until later in life. He grew up with a history of the woman he believed to be his sister being actually his mother, June Frances Nicholson. This was Jennifer’s own history with family.
Career and Interests
Jennifer Nicholson was herself no movie star, though acting did run in her family. She did occasionally appear as a young child in films, but apart from those early experiences on screen, her profession was not in movies. Jennifer earned a degree in art history and went on to have a number of careers, one of which was a stint as a movie set designer. That allowed her to remain connected with the film world, yet in a creative and nonacting capacity.
In 2003, Jennifer launched her own collection in New York Fashion Week. Jennifer designs were a huge success as Hollywood stars such as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Naomi Campbell were just some of the many who wear her clothes. Fashion became one of the defining aspects of Jennifer’s career; she brought attention to her style and ideas. Other than fashion, Jennifer was also doing interior designing, testifying to the fact that she had many talents in the world of designing.
Family Life
Jennifer’s family life has been as important to her. Jennifer has two sons, Duke and Sean, with ex-husband Mark Norfleet. Even her son Duke followed in the family genes and featured in the 2018 film Us, adding another dimension to the Nicholson family’s legacy in Hollywood.
Though Jennifer had the stress and pressure of being Jack Nicholson’s daughter, she does not allow this to label her as a shame to her family. She has described the rigor of trying to live under such a famous name.
