He is the first-born son of actor and director Clint Eastwood and Margaret Neville Eastwood (née Johnson). Kyle was raised in Carmel, California, steeped in jazz, which became his lifelong pursuit. His dad exposed him to jazz legends including Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, and Count Basie, and even had him know how to play the bass line of “Boogie Woogie” as a kid.
Kyle went to the University of Southern California to pursue film but ended up going the music route.
