Michael hails from a Mexican-American background; his parents, Ray and Eleanor Sanchez, raised two siblings for him: Lauren Sanchez and Elena Sanchez Blair (Elena is now married to Rob Sanborn with four children of her own).
Lauren is Michael’s sister and is known for her media work. Role in the Jeff Bezos Scandal
Michael Sanchez became widely known for his involvement in an extremely contentious controversy involving Jeff Bezos’ personal texts between Lauren Sanchez and himself leaked to the National Enquirer, leading many to suspect Michael as being behind it. Reports suggested he sold them for over $200,000. Michael, however, denied these reports, maintaining he was only trying to protect his sister and Bezos.

Legal Battles and Accusations Processes in Illinois
After the scandal broke out, Michael faced severe allegations. AMI confirmed his participation; however, Michael then sued Jeff Bezos and security consultant Gavin de Becker for defamation; alleging they falsely accused him of leaking explicit photos to AMI.
Bezos asked Michael to pay $1.7 million in legal fees; Michael accused his former spouse Patrick Whitesell of possibly playing a part in tipping off National Enquirer about him. The court eventually dismissed Michael’s lawsuit in 2020. Later, Bezos charged Michael $1.7 million as legal fees; in addition, Patrick may have had some influence in tipping them off to National Enquirer about Lauren.
