Patrick Whitesell was born February 4, 1965, in Iowa Falls, Iowa to parents with strong ties to Hollywood – his brother John is an established director – before attending Luther College of Iowa where he graduated in 1987 – which helped lay the groundwork for a successful Hollywood career.
Career in Hollywood
Patrick began his Hollywood career humbly. Starting at InterTalent talent agency’s mailroom – an established starting point in the industry – Patrick gradually rose through its ranks before eventually joining United Talent Agency (UTA) between 1992-1995.
Patrick found his breakthrough when he joined Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in 1995 and quickly rose through their talent department ranks, eventually serving as its head until 2001 – leading CAA into becoming one of Hollywood’s premier agencies under his guidance.
Patrick first joined Endeavor, another top talent agency, as a partner and soon after was instrumental in its merger with William Morris Agency, eventually creating WME (William Morris Endeavor), one of the largest talent agencies globally.
