Mark Sinclair is better known by his stage name Vin Diesel, is an American actor, producer, director and screenwriter. He is famously well known for his movies like The Fast and Furious Film series, The Chronicles of Riddick series and Groot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is also a producer on sequels in these franchises, with his company One Race films.
Vin Diesel was born on July 18th 1967 in Alameda Country, California, U.S.
Diesel made his stage debut at age seven when he appeared in the children’s play Dinosaur Door, written by Barbara Garson. The play was produced at Theatre of the New city in New York’s Greenwich Village. Diesel remained involved with the theater throughout adolescence, going on to attend NYC’s Hunter College, where studies in creative writing led him to began screenwriting.
He has identified himself as a multi-faceted actor as a result of early difficulties finding roles due to his mixed heritage.
Diesel work attracted the attention of note director Steven Spielberg, who was then starting work on his World war 2 epic Saving Private Ryan (1998).
Showing his talent for serious dramatic fare, Diesel joined Ben Affleck and Giovanni Ribisi as a crooked stock broker in Boiler room (2000). He soon helped launch one of the era’s most popular action franchises with 2001’s The Fast and Furious. In the film Diesel played notorious street racer Dominic Toretto, who is investigated by an undercover cop (Paul Walker).
Suddenly Diesel’s brand of bad-boy cool charisma was hugely in demand. So much so that, after pocketing $1 million for 2001’s The Fast and Furious he felt confident enought to request $30 million to appear in any sequels. While his demands weren’t met, the success of Pitch black and his leading role in xXx look set to gurantee the sort of film franchises that make fortunes He’s already been promised $20 million to appear in xXx 2 the sort of fee that only Hollywood A-listers like Julia Roberts and Tom cruise usually command.
Diesel has won awards and accolades for his acting skills, like : MTV Movie Award for ‘The Fast and Furious’. Spike Video Game Award, Video Software Dealers Association Award and Cinemacon Award.
