Jacob Heyward was born on August 1, 1995, in McDonough, Georgia. He had a close and affectionate family as he grew up. His parents are Eugene Heyward and Laura Heyward. His older brother, Jason Heyward, is a player for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jacob and Jason grew up in a family that emphasized working hard. Both of their parents encouraged them in life and athletics. Jason became a Major League Baseball star, and Jacob took his own route in the same sport.

School and College Baseball

Jacob attended Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, which was his hometown. He was already a great baseball player at that time. In 2013, the Atlanta Braves drafted him in the 38th round of the MLB draft. However, Jacob chose to attend college.

He signed with the University of Miami and played for the Miami Hurricanes. His best year was in 2015. He batted .327 with 4 home runs and 24 RBIs. He performed excellently well during the College World Series, batting .455 in three games. He contributed significantly to the team with his good game.

Pro Baseball Career

After college, Jacob was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 2016. He was drafted in the 18th round. Jacob signed with the Giants and began his pro career in their minor league system.
