Early Life in South Africa
Lynette was born on 16th February 1952 in Kempton Park, South Africa. She spent her childhood in a town close to Kempton Park named Germiston. She enjoyed sports as a kid. She used to excel at track and field, netball, and field hockey. She even played hockey at a high level. Unfortunately, leg injuries prevented her from proceeding.
Moving to Switzerland
During the early 1970s, Lynette was working at a firm named Ciba-Geigy. It was there that she met Robert Federer, who was from Switzerland. She liked him and they married in 1973. Shortly thereafter, they both shifted to Basel, Switzerland. That’s where they began their family.
Her Family
Lynette and Robert both have two children.

Diana became a nurse. Roger became one of the best tennis players ever. The family lived in a quiet suburb called Münchenstein.
